I don't have the eloquence to express my feelings today any more than to say that today is a day that will stay in the minds and hearts of Americans for generations. The attack on the World Trade Center buildings and on the Pentagon is nothing less than a declaration of war.
I fervently hope that our political and military leaders summon all the moral outrage that is justified in this situation and look beyond their petty disagreements to come together in universal support against this type of cowardly action.
Unfortunately, I am sure that there will be people who claim to be American citizens that will speak out against rapid and decisive retribution for today's atrocity. These are the people who, for generations, have been destroying the moral fabric that our founding fathers believed was necessary to maintain the integrity of our great country.
Almost more than the loss of life in today's attack, I regret the damage that these people do.
If you are reading this, I encourage you to go today and do something to help those people who need our support. Donate blood, donate supplies, volunteer. Give them our moral support as well by being vocal in encouraging our leaders to punish these people.
If you are one of those people who will speak out against retribution, keep in mind that you are not supporting our own citizens, but rather you are supporting those who would destroy our country, and you cannot, in good conscience, ever call yourself an American citizen again.
